NORTH TONAWANDA – The Friends of the North Tonawanda Public Library will hold their 40th annual used book sale this week in the library, 505 Meadow Drive.
Members of the Friends will have first crack at the books through an exclusive presale from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Anyone may join by paying $5.
The public sale will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. Prices are $2 for hardcovers, $1 for paperbacks, and 50 cents for Harlequin-type paperbacks. Magazines are 25 cents each or 5 for $1; records, audio and video cassettes are 25 cents; and CDs and DVDs are $1. Coffee table books will be priced separately.
But on Saturday and Sunday, the rules change. Anyone who brings a brown paper bag may pay a flat $5 for as much as he or she can stuff into the bag. Bag sale hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
