NORTH TONAWANDA – A 26-year-old man died Sunday after he lost control of his motorcycle north of the intersection of Wheatfield Street and Twin Cities Memorial Highway.
Joseph F. Brochey of North Tonawanda died at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after the crash, which was reported shortly before 6 p.m., North Tonawanda Police Det. Capt. Thomas E. Krantz said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation and an autopsy is being scheduled, Krantz said.
Brochey was driving south on Nash Road, just as it turns into Twin Cities Memorial Highway, north of Wheatfield Street.
Brochey and his motorcycle were found next to a utility pole. The bike did not hit the pole, though Brochey’s body may have, police said.
A witness has told police Brochey was not traveling fast just prior to the crash.
Investigators aren’t sure what precipitated the crash, whether it was a medical issue or if the motorcycle may have hit the curb.
