NIAGARA FALLS – Community Missions Inc. will host its annual Walk for Niagara on Saturday at Whirlpool State Park.
The event is designed to raise both awareness and funds for the agency’s Crisis Services programs, including the soup kitchen, food pantry, clothes closet and emergency shelter.
Walkers are asked to collect pledges and donations, and there are two ways to participate: as an individual, collecting a minimum of $20; or as a team of at least five walkers, collecting a minimum of $150. Dogs on leashes are welcome.
Pledge sheets and all collected donations are turned in at check-in, which begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by the 2-mile walk at 11:15 a.m. Pre-walk coffee and doughnuts will be provided by Tim Hortons, followed by a post-walk lunch, 50/50 raffle and prizes for the top fundraising individuals and teams. The event takes place rain or shine.
This year’s sponsors are LocalEdge and Niagara Falls City Court Judge Angelo J. Morinello. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Contact Andrea Gray at 285-3403, ext. 2225, or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information, or visit www.communitymissions.org.
