Land Conservancy receives two grants worth $70,000

The Western New York Land Conservancy has been awarded $70,000 in two separate grants from the Conservation Partnership Program sponsored by the state Department of Environmental Conservation.

A transaction grant will help the conservancy on the highest profile project in its history, the creation of Stella Niagara Preserve on the Niagara River in Lewiston.

The second grant will allow the conservancy to establish a new full-time position of land protection director.
