SHAKESPEARE PAGEANT: A “Pageant of Shakespearean Proportions” will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library, 1 Lafayette Square. SAFE BOATING CLASS: U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 3-1 is offering a one-day class entitled “About Boating Safely,” taught by Coast Guard-certified instructors, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in the Officers Club at Fort Niagara in Youngstown. According to a newly adopted state law, all jet-ski operators as well as anyone born after 1996 must successfully complete this course to operate a boat in New York waters. Those completing the class may be entitled to a 10 percent discount on boat insurance. RUMMAGE SALE: St. Francis of Assisi Church’s alumni committee will sponsor a rummage sale of gently used items from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the School Hall, 70 Adam St., Tonawanda. Early birds will be admitted at 8 a.m. for $3, with regular admission of $1 beginning at 9. Refreshments will be available. All proceeds will benefit the parish and its Early Childhood Center.
