S. Union Road sidewalk project is topic of public information session

A public information session on plans to install sidewalks along South Union Road in Williamsville and Amherst will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. in Village Hall, 5565 Main St.

The meeting will be an informal open house with displays and state Department of Transportation officials available to receive comments and answer individual questions, according to a DOT news release.

The primary objective of the project is to create a continuous sidewalk network on both sides of South Union Road from the Thruway to Main Street, the release stated. The project will require minor property acquisitions and is scheduled to be completed in 2017.
