Man arraigned in theft of credit cards

A Buffalo man accused of stealing and using credit cards was arraigned in Buffalo City Court on multiple theft charges.

Keith Winston, 50, of Porter Avenue is charged with third degree burglary, criminal possession of stolen property, forgery, grand larceny in the fourth degree and identity theft.

Winston is accused of entering Nichols School on Feb. 23 and walking off with three credit cards belonging to an employee and one credit card belonging to the school. According to prosecutors, Winston was caught on surveillance video swiping the credit cards at several locations, including Auto Zone on Bailey Avenue, and signing receipts.

Winston also is accused of taking an employee’s debit card from a child care center on April 6 and using it at a NOCO Express and Family Dollar. He also allegedly tried to use it at a Kwik Fill, but the card was denied.

Judge Betty Calvo-Torres scheduled a felony hearing for 9:30 a.m. Friday.
