A chicken dinner benefiting the City of Tonawanda’s “Team Up to Clean Up” group will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Gateway Harbor, Main and Young streets.
Since 2014, the group’s volunteers have held about five major cleanup and beautification projects each year at playgrounds and parks throughout the city, including Gateway Park, City Cemetery, the Erie Canal, Roosevelt Street, Luksin Community Garden, Memory Lane and others.
The cleanups have attracted as many as 60 volunteers, and smaller groups to help seniors clean up their landscaping.
A cleanup of Gateway Harbor, in conjunction with the dinner by BW’s Smokin’ Barrels Barbecue, will also be held Saturday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Pre-sale tickets for $10 are available by contacting coordinators Brian Fose at 444-1878 or Bob Starr at 692-2038.
