Lowdown: A native of Washington, D.C., Ngakoue set a Maryland record and finished second in the country with 13.5 sacks in 2015, deciding to leave school a year early for the NFL. He produced 45 quarterback pressures, according to nfl.com. … Ngakoue has impressive athleticism and showed at Maryland he can rush the passer from a variety of different spots. … There is some concern among scouts about his ability to develop counter moves if an offensive lineman is able to handle his speed rush. Another knock against him is that some of his production came on plays in which he wasn’t blocked or the opposing quarterback held the ball too long. ... Asked to set the edge at Maryland, but had just 1.5 tackles for losses that came on plays that weren’t sacks, so isn’t a big difference-maker in that regard.
