The Village Board adopted a 2016-17 budget carrying a $10.12 tax rate, which represents a 0.14% increase over last year.  A home assessed at $100,000 will see its tax bill increase by approximately $1.40.

The new budget also stays beneath the tax cap limit to comply with the tax cap legislation.  The tax cap rate for this budget was close to zero and allowed little room to manage operational increases.

Other budget highlights include stabilization of workers’ compensation costs due to the Safety Committee and efforts to reduce injuries at the public works department.

Another Ride for Bryce fundraiser for the Bryce Buchholz BMX/Skate Park in Keysa Park will be held at 11 a.m. May 1 in the village park off Vandenburg Street.

Participants can select a 2to 3-mile family fun ride or a 13-to 14-mile bike ride through the village and town.

Non-refundable registration fee is $10; $15 non-refundable registration fee on the day of event. Pizza and drink included.

Check-in begins at 9 a.m. Helmets are required. Raffles, games and a post-ride party are open to all ages.

For registration, donation, or further information, call Anne at 684-2406 or Bill at 830-8465. Pre-registration online is available at www.flyhighridefreeBryce.com
