BAKER, Archie Michael "Mickey"
BAKER - Archie Michael "Mickey" Age 82, passed peacefully on Wednesday, April 13th, 2016 at Hospice of Buffalo. Mickey was never seen without a hat and wore many in his life. Mickey was born September 27, 1933 in Andover, New York to James J. and Florence (Cocoman) Baker, Sr. He graduated from Andover High School, worked construction then enlisted in the US Army 82nd Airborne Division and served from 1954 to 1956 as company clerk and loved to jump. Mickey returned home and went to work at C-E Air Preheater in Wellsville. His career there spanned 25 years from the shop floor to plant manager. He met the love of his life, Jeannie O'Donnell there and enjoyed 47 years of marriage. In retirement, Mickey worked independently on many ventures, and particularly liked oil, gas and mineral rights. He was a member of the BPOE Elks Club, Oil Producers Association, Ancient Order of Hibernians, and Immaculate Conception Parish. His hobbies were socializing, playing cards, reading newspapers, country music, and being with family and friends. Mickey is survived by his sister, Patricia Moore (Martin) of Rock Hill, SC; his four children, Mary Jo (Robert) Butler of Williamsville, Terrence (Rebecca) Baker of Akron, William Baker of Steamboat Springs, CO and Veronica (Russell) Lyons of Rochester. The six grandchildren are Nicole, Stephanie, Cory, Morgan, Nick and Matt. Mickey has 13 nieces and nephews. Predeceased family includes his wife, Jeannie; sister, Rosemary Burger; brothers, James Jr. and John; nephews, George Burger and JD Rife. Please join us in celebrating Mickey's life. Visitations will be Thursday, April 21st and Friday, April 22nd from 4-8 PM at J. W. EMBSER SONS FUNERAL HOME in Wellsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 23rd at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville. Interment, with Military Honors will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
