Tonawanda man with revoked license charged with impaired driving

A City of Tonawanda man whose driver’s license was revoked in 2007 for driving while intoxicated was charged Wednesday with driving while impaired by drugs.

City of Tonawanda police pulled over Samuel P. Vigrass Sr., just after noon after his car crossed over the center lines of Delaware Street and tried to pull into a gas station. A school bus driver had reported to police a reckless driver in the area, city police said.

Police determined Vigrass, 52, had snorted crushed pain pills, used marijuana and he told officers he also took muscle relaxers.

He was charged with driving while impaired by drugs and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, as well as driving left of pavement markings and making an unsafe turn. He was taken to Kenmore Mercy Hospital to have blood drawn and held for a court appearance, police said.
