Kevin P. McLaughlin, chief operating officer at Bishop Timon-St. Jude High School since 2013, has been appointed to the newly-created position of president by the school’s Board of Trustees. He will assume his duties July 1.
The appointment was made in conjunction with a change in the leadership structure at the school, which now will be headed by a president and a principal. McLaughlin is part of a subcommittee that is seeking a successor to Thomas J. Sullivan, principal for the past 22 years, who will retire in June. Sullivan will continue at Timon as coordinator of special projects through June 2017.
McLaughlin, a 1979 Timon graduate with a master of divinity degree from Christ the King Seminary, returned to the school in 2006 to lead the newly-formed Office of Advancement. A certified fund raising executive, he had been director of development for the Mercy Hospital Foundation since 1998.
