The death of a North Tonawanda woman, whose body was found earlier this week in South Carolina, is being investigated as a homicide.
Shannon DiTillio, 22, had reportedly arrived in the Myrtle Beach area Thursday and was found dead Monday in a empty lot in Longs, S.C., according the Myrtle Beach Sun News.
A man told police he found the body in at 11 a.m. Monday.
Police reported that DiTillio was found lying face up with a small puddle of blood nearby. The officers found a blue backpack on the ground to her left and a red and black backpack in a pond behind her.
Her death is being investigated as a homicide, Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard told the Sun News.
