One passenger was killed and another seriously injured in a crash involving at least two vehicles in Colden Tuesday afternoon, and Erie County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for witnesses.
Deputies who arrived at Center Road, between Blanchard and Partridge roads, at about 2:10 p.m. found one damaged vehicle in a driveway and another in a ditch on the side of the road.
Chauncy Kloiber, 28, of Wales, a back seat passenger in the vehicle found in the ditch, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman in her late teens was extricated from the front seat of the same vehicle and flown to Erie County Medical Center where she was listed in critical condition.
The driver was able to get out of the vehicle himself and was found sitting on the other side of the road. The driver was taken by ambulance to South Buffalo Mercy Hospital and then transferred to ECMC with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
The sheriff’s office is looking to speak with anyone who may have information about the crash or who may have seen other vehicles in the area around 2 p.m. Investigators are also looking to speak with anyone who may have home security footage.
Anyone with information should call the sheriff’s Crash Investigation Unit at 858-3270.
