Lockport man pleads guilty to felony for choking girlfriend

LOCKPORT – A man who was accused of assaulting his girlfriend on the night of Aug. 22-23 pleaded guilty to a felony last Monday in State Supreme Court.

Sandy W. Thompson Sr., 54, of Chestnut Street, Lockport, admitted to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree strangulation and was scheduled for sentencing June 6 by Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. Thompson faces a maximum of four years in state prison.

He was living in Urban Park Towers on Main Street in Lockport at the time of the assault.
