BESSEGHINI - Victoria Hania, Md
Of Buffalo, entered into rest March 11, 2016. She was born in Athens, Greece on April 2, 1928. Beloved mother of Maria (Joseph) Baker; cherished grandmother of Andrew (Catherine Scrivo) Baker and Alexandra Baker; great-grandmother of Ellory Baker; dear sister of Demetra "Tula" (late Stavros) Kapokaki of Athens, Greece; fond relative of Colleen (late Italo) and Lara Besseghini; also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relations in Greece, Italy, England and throughout the United States. Victoria received her medical degree from the University of Athens, Greece, in 1954. She was a psychiatrist at Buffalo and WNY Children's Psychiatric Centers and at numerous agencies and facilities throughout WNY. Victoria was an advocate for the rights of children and adolescents and served on many boards and committees in this capacity. She was also Assistant Clinical Professor at SUNY-Buffalo. Victoria loved traveling, music, reading and socializing with friends and family. A gathering in Victoria's memory will be held at The Chapel at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1411 Delaware Ave., Buffalo, on Saturday, April 16 from 1-4 PM with a service at 2 PM.
