REYNOLDS - John M. Jr. Age 82, died at his home in Plantation, FL, Friday, April 1, 2016. John was born in Watertown, NY, to John M. Reynolds and Helen Sullivan Reynolds. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nuala; son, John M. Reynolds III (Linda) of Fort Lauderdale, FL; daughters, Elisabeth Reynolds of Hollywood, FL, and Kathleen Reynolds, of Atlanta, GA; grandsons, Michael and Jonathan Heinz; and many nieces and nephews. John attended Lemoyne College in Syracuse, NY, and Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. John made his career in nonprofit fundraising, beginning in the Western New York area, where he worked for the American Cancer
Society and for WNED-TV, the Buffalo PBS affiliate, where he was known for his on-air pledge drives and the TV auction. He left WNED-TV for WPBT-TV, the Miami affiliate in 1977, arriving in Miami on January 19, 1977, the day of a rare South Florida snow flurry, prompting his new colleagues to worry that he had brought Buffalo weather with him. John was known for his great sense of humor, hearty laugh, and winning smile. He will be greatly missed.
Interment will be at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
