West Seneca man gets year of home detention for selling oxycodone

A West Seneca man who was convicted of distributing oxycodone was sentenced to a year of home detention and three years on probation Friday by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.

Federal prosecutors said that Fred Suchan, 33, sold or attempted to sell OxyContin and Opana tablets to an undercover police officer on three occasions in September and October 2010 in a commercial parking lot on Abbott Road in Orchard Park.

On the last occasion, officers seized a 9 mm rifle, a loaded 9 mm magazine and ammunition from Suchan’s vehicle.

The sentencing is the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration and Orchard Park Police Department.
