Town of Lockport man pleads guilty in child porn case

LOCKPORT – Timothy M. Kong of the Town of Lockport pleaded guilty Friday in Niagara County Court to two felony child pornography charges.

Kong, 35, of Northview Drive, admitted to two counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child as a sexually motivated felony. Judge Sara Sheldon accepted a recommendation from Deputy District Attorney Holly E. Sloma for concurrent sentencing, meaning the most Kong could receive is seven years in prison when he is sentenced June 17.

Kong was living in the City of Lockport when he was originally charged with having child porn on his computer and sharing it with others. He pleaded guilty to one specific video and one still photo, both downloaded in January 2013 and both involving small boys. Kong said he has been undergoing psychiatric treatment for the past three years.
