Missing Lockport art gallery owner found safe

LOCKPORT – Lockport police announced Friday night that Heather Grimmer, owner of a Lockport art gallery and local news website, has been found safe in Rochester.

Grimmer, 35, “had been known to frequent areas of Rochester,” Lockport Detective Lt. Todd Chenez had said Thursday in asking the public for help in locating her. A family member told police Grimmer had last been seen on Sunday in the Town of Niagara and was believed at the time to be driving back to Lockport.

She is the owner of ART247, formerly the Market Street Art Center in Lockport, as well as East Niagara Post, a website that features Lockport news. That website reported that Grimmer “has contacted authorities and will be home soon.” Lockport police disclosed no further details.
