Man admits selling drugs to be smuggled into prison

A Buffalo man in district court admitted selling heroin and marijuana that were smuggled to an inmate at Attica Correctional Facility, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan A. Tokash.

Jerome Tallington, 28, pleaded guilty to narcotics conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute and distribution of heroin.

Tallington said he sold heroin and marijuana to Elizabeth Camue Martinez, who then smuggled gram quantities to her husband Andres Martinez in prison, knowing that he would distribute them to other inmates.

Both Elizabeth and Andres Martinez have been convicted and await sentencing.

Sentencing for Tallington is set for 9 a.m. July 22 before U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo.
