KEMPSKI - Henry April 3, 2016, of Depew, NY, at the age of 89, beloved husband of 61 years to Jane M. (nee Schweers) Kempski; dearest father of Mark, PhD. (Maureen) and Brian (Ann) Kempski; dear grandfather of Caitlin, Kara, Monica and Lauren; brother of his twin sister Stella (late Frank) Wojcik, Marcia (John) Kutlak and the late Longin (Florence) Kempski, late Margaret (late Anthony, Sr.) Rogacki and the late Joasia Kempski; also survived by nieces and nephews. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME 5090 Transit Road (south of Como Park Blvd.) where funeral services will be held on Monday at 8:45 AM and from St. Gabriel Church at 9:30 AM. Entombment St. Mary of the Assumption Cemetery. Henry was a retired Captain with the Cheektowaga Police Department with over 30 years of service, a graduate of the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA, member of the Captain and Lieutenant Association, W.A.A.R.P. of Cheektowaga, an Army veteran of WW II, lifetime member of Pvt. Leonard Post VFW Post #6251, American Legion, a graduate of SUNY at Buffalo with a Bachelors Degree in Commercial Artistry and a former employee at Westinghouse in Cheektowaga.
