A 43-year-old Grand Island man Tuesday was charged with robbing a Tonawanda convenience store in January, reported City of Tonawanda police.
Charles J. Henry of West River Road faces charges of first-degree robbery, weapons possession, petit larceny and menacing in connection with the robbery, police said.
Henry was armed with a claw hammer when he entered Gulf Mart, 265 Delaware St. in Tonawanda and threatened the clerk.
The suspect was also involved in other convenience store robberies in the Town of Tonawanda and Kenmore that same night, said Police Capt. Fredric Foels.
