BATAVIA – The “recycling” of political candidates may not sit well with many people, but few could object to a free electronic recycling event hosted by a Western New York elected official.
State Assemblyman Stephen M. Hawley (R,C, I – Batavia) invites residents to take their cell phones, computers, monitors, printers, audio/video equipment, small devices, and undamaged old style televisions to the parking lot at 5130 East Main St. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday for recycling.
The location is next to the National Grid office.
“Going green has become more popular in recent years, and this event offers residents the opportunity to properly dispose of their old electronic waste in a way that doesn’t damage our environment,” Hawley said, adding that the event can also serve as early spring cleaning and a way to get rid of old, bulky junk.
