LOCKPORT – The water is safe to drink on Morrow Avenue in the City of Lockport, although repairs to a broken water line there Sunday night left the water discolored for a time, Mayor Anne E. McCaffrey said Monday.
The break and the resulting repairs shook loose “rust, iron and sedimentation,” McCaffrey announced. Reports of cloudy water led to the Water Department’s discovery of the break.
The water was tested and found to be safe, McCaffrey said. No “boil water” order ever was issued.
