Five Star Bank will move its regional administrative center from Pittsford to downtown Rochester by April 2017, the Warsaw-based bank said Monday.
The bank said it will relocate about 150 commercial and retail lending, marketing, finance and administrative employees. It also expects to add 20 to 30 employees over the next five years, and plans to open a “technology-driven branch” in the building in the fourth quarter of this year, pending regulatory approval.
The building at 100 Chestnut St. will be renamed Five Star Bank Plaza. Martin K. Birmingham, the bank’s president and chief executive officer, described the move as “a continuation of our plan to expand our presence in Rochester.” The bank has stated it wants to increase its presence in both the Rochester and Buffalo markets.
Five Star opened a new-style branch in CityGate, which is in Rochester, last November and another one in Brighton, a Rochester suburb, last month.
