A fire at a two-unit house on Gold Street late Monday afternoon routed two families from their dwellings, reported the Buffalo Fire Department Alarm Office.
The blaze was reported just before 5:30 p.m. at 247 Gold, fire dispatchers reported. It is believed to have started and was contained to a second-floor bedroom, dispatchers said.
No injuries were reported,
Damages were estimated at $30,000, and the cause remains under investigation, said dispatchers.
The Red Cross was called in to assist one adult and one child from the first-floor unit, and two adults from the second floor.
