Meredith Elizabeth Savina Hicks and Robert F. Morris were married at 4 p.m. on Sept. 26, 2015, in the Hall of Philosophy on the grounds of Chautauqua Institution. Guests gathered for a reception at Athenaeum Hotel. Chaplain Maureen Rovegno of Chautauqua heard the couple’s vows. The bride’s parents are Daniel H. and Joan Savino Hicks of Point Chautauqua. The bridegroom’s parents are Fred and Jane Morris of Summerfield, Fla., and Cheryl and Cameron Lane of Lake View. The bride, a graduate of Chautauqua Lake Central School, earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physical education from SUNY Brockport. She is a physical education teacher for the Buffalo Public School system. The groom, a graduate of Lancaster High School, earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in applied health from Canisius College. An MBA candidate at Medaille College, he is a U.S. Army veteran and a government employee at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in Buffalo. After a trip to Colonial Beach, Va., the couple makes their home in Alden.
