Kenmore man arrested in failed holdup attempt

A 32-year-old Kenmore man was arrested Sunday night for allegedly attempting to rob a Buffalo drug store and allegedly threatening to use a handgun never shown to store personal.

Joshua C. Kent of Somerton Avenue was arrested in the 1000 block of Kenmore Avenue shortly after the 11:35 p.m. robbery attempt at the Walgreen’s store at 1556 Hertel Avenue. Kent, identified by the store clerk he allegedly threatened, was charged with attempted third-degree robbery and second-degree harassment.

Police noted that after Kent allegedly paid for a package of candy, he put his right hand under his hoody and told the clerk he had a weapon, only to have the clerk quickly close the cash register and Kent fled.
