Previously seen on the First Niagara Center stage as part of Alternative Buffalo's holiday showcase the "Kerfuffle Before Christmas," BØRNS will bring its eclectic brand dream-pop back to town for a show at 7 p.m. June 14 at Waiting Room (334 Delaware Ave.).
Infusing glam rock, disco and dance, Michigan native Garrett Borns has caught the eyes and ears of everyone from the folks at NPR to Taylor Swift. After a string of festival dates throughout the summer of 2015, the pop artist's debut record "Dopamine" was released last October. Most recently, he was featured on PBS' "Front and Center" series, documenting his sold-out performance at New York City's Iridium Jazz Club.
Joining BØRNS for the double bill will be experimental-pop duo, Lewis Del Mar. The Rockaway Beach-bred pair, fresh off some buzzing performances at Austin's SXSW Festival, has been making noise with its bold and challenging single "Loud(y)" since surfacing in 2015. The track is featured on the group's January released debut EP, an ambitious four-track effort that should appeal to other left-of-the-deal alternative acts Foals, Goyte and alt-J.
Tickets for the all-ages show are $15 to $18 and go on sale at noon April 1. Visit alternativebuffalo.com or waitingroombuffalo.com.
