A 36-year-old convicted felon driving around with a high-powered rifle was charged with criminal possession of a weapon after being stopped by Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies Saturday night.
Deputies said they saw Aaron J. Restivo, of Gerry, driving in the village of Sinclairville and knew he had an active County Court warrant. When they stopped his vehicle, they found the rifle and also discovered his driver’s license had been revoked because of a DWI conviction.
In addition to the weapon’s charge, Restivo was charged with alcohol-related unlicensed operation of a vehicle. He was being held without bail in Chautauqua County Jail.
