WHEATFIELD – The Greater Niagara Falls Church of God will receive one-third of an acre of land now owned by the Town of Wheatfield to expand its parking lot on Lockport Road.
The Town Board voted Monday to declare the parcel as surplus land and deeded it over to the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency. Supervisor Robert B. Cliffe said the IDA will give the land to the church for more parking and a driveway off Inducon Corporate Drive.
That’s the entrance road to Vantage International Point, an industrial park off Lockport Road controlled by the IDA. The church is located beside that road, and the town’s 0.34-acre parcel of land, like the church, is located on the west side of the road.
“This is something the IDA can use and we can’t,” Cliffe said.
