TIFFT EGG-STRAVAGANZA: Tifft Nature Preserve, 1200 Fuhrmann Blvd., will host its annual indoor celebration of animals that hatch from eggs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday. PROSTATE SCREENING: Roswell Park Cancer Institute and the Buffalo Sabres are partnering to offer free prostate cancer screening for eligible men from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Lexus Club at First Niagara Center. The screening, the first to be held as part of the One Team, One Goal: Together to Beat Cancer campaign, is part of a broader effort to reduce cancer’s impact among the team’s fans. Attendees will get a chance to tour the team’s locker room and to meet Sabres alumni, including Val James, the first American-born black to play in the National Hockey League. Fellow Sabres alumni Marty Biron, Craig Rivet and Rob Ray also are expected at the event.
BEAUTY PAGEANT: Sunburst USA will be hosting a pageant and model search at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Walden Galleria. Contestants from ages under one year to 27 years old, may enter for their chance to walk the stage, show off beauty and personality and be crowned.
