LOCKPORT – Plans to realign a busy Town of Lockport intersection and construct a sidewalk nearby will be the topic of a public forum from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Lockport Town Hall, 6560 Dysinger Road.
The state Department of Transportation plans to add left-turn lanes for northbound and southbound traffic at the corner of Beattie Avenue and Dysinger, Robinson and Old Beattie roads, in front of Town Hall. The current right-turn lane for northbound traffic on Old Beattie Road will become the lane for through traffic, too. For southbound drivers, there will be three lanes to choose from – left turn, straight and right turn – instead of the current situation, where there is a right-turn lane while left turners and through traffic share a lane.
Also, a half-mile of new sidewalk is to be laid on the north side of Dysinger Road from Beattie Avenue to Raymond Road.
Wednesday’s meeting will be held in an open format with attendees able to question DOT officials one-on-one.
