When police found a stash of narcotics in a Jamestown home on Monday, they also found something else that troubled them – five children who were also in the house.
Two people were each charged with drug possession and five counts of endangering the welfare of a child after authorities executed search warrants on East Second Street on Monday afternoon.
The Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and the State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, along with the Jamestown Police SWAT Team, raided a house on the 1000 block of East Second at about 3:45 p.m.
Misha C. Gonzalez, 34, and Juan A. Valasquez-Rodriguez, 37, had 400 envelopes of heroin, about 50 capsules of cocaine and drug packaging material, police said.
The children in the home were between 1 and 9 years old.
Gonzalez and Valasquez-Rodriguez were also charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigation is continuing and additional charges are pending, Jamestown police said.
