Town of Niagara man pleads guilty to having 2 ounces of cocaine

LOCKPORT – A Town of Niagara man admitted Monday in Niagara County Court that he had 2.01 ounces of cocaine in his apartment when police raided it Aug. 19.

Wilfredo Borges II, 34, of Joanne Circle, pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Judge Matthew J. Murphy III admitted him to the judicial diversion program of court-supervised drug treatment. Borges risks as long as nine years in prison if he fails to break his drug addiction, but if he succeeds, the charge will reduced to a misdemeanor with a nonjail sentence.

Last week, Borges’ live-in girlfriend, Jessica L. Gordon, pleaded guilty to the same charge and also entered diversion. The couple forfeited $4.637 in cash that police seized in the raid along with the cocaine.
