Inez C. Krohn, of Williamsville, a fitness and yoga instructor, died Tuesday in Bert Fish Medical Center, New Smyrna Beach, Fla., after a brief illness. She was 83.
Born in Buffalo, the former Inez Judelsohn earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Buffalo State College.
Highly regarded as a yoga instructor, Mrs. Krohn led classes at YWCA branches in the Buffalo area in the 1970s, as well as at Trinity Episcopal Church.
After moving from Williamsville to Brocton in 1979, she served as the fitness director and instructor of senior fitness of the Fredonia Office for the Aging, as well as fitness director and instructor of yoga and senior fitness for the Westfield YWCA.
Mrs. Krohn also taught stress management and relaxation techniques, and water aerobics.
She was a volunteer for Patterson Library in Westfield and for the League of Women Voters of Chautauqua County. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Fredonia.
Mrs. Krohn moved back to Williamsville in 2014.
Her husband of 33 years, Franklin B. “Bud” Korohn, a SUNY distinguished service professor at Fredonia State College, died in 2007.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda Schiller, Debra Hilfstein and Lynette Krohn; three sons, David Schiller, Robert Schiller and Robert Krohn; a sister, Anne Judelsohn; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday in Amherst Memorial Chapel, 281 Dodge Road, Getzville.
