LOCKPORT – Marcus A. Owens, 28, of Mackenna Avenue, Niagara Falls, was sentenced Wednesday to two years in state prison for having cocaine in his car when police stopped it April 7 in the Falls.
Owens had pleaded guilty to fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree reckless endangerment with a vehicle. Police seized $1,441 in cash from the auto, and Owens forfeited the money.
Owens’ sentence will be served after he completes a 10-month federal sentence, imposed Tuesday by U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny, for violating parole on a 2007 conviction for cocaine distribution and gun possession. Owens originally received a sentence of eight years and a month on those charges.
