Lowe’s locations in Western New York are participating in the 34th annual MDA Shamrocks program to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Stores through St. Patrick’s Day will make available paper Shamrock pinups at checkout for $1, $5 or a larger contributions. Proceeds will help those challenged with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related life-threatening diseases that severely weaken muscle strength and mobility. “Each Shamrock sold is a symbol of strength, independence and life for kids and adults with life-threatening diseases who count on MDA to find answers and provide support,” said Bonnie Webster, MDA Executive Director. “Thanks to the generosity of Lowe’s employees and patrons, we can help MDA invest in lifesaving research and support programs for these individuals so they can live the life they’ve always imagined and experience the world without any limits.”
Regional support groups and clinics will benefit, including at the DENT Neurologic Institute, Buffalo General and Women & Children’s hospitals, as well as an MDA summer camp for about 50 kids at Rotary Sunshine Campus outside Rochester.
