Josephine Nebral, 102, seamstress, pastry chef

April 7, 1913 – March 1, 2016

Josephine Nebral, of Buffalo, a retired seamstress and pastry chef, died Tuesday in Beechwood Nursing Home, Getzville, at age 102.

Born in Buffalo, the former Josephine Longo raised four daughters as a single mother after her husband of 20 years, Sager, a furniture store owner, died in 1957.

Mrs. Nebral went to work after all her children were in school, sewing draperies for Walter Hoppel Interiors. Later, when her son-in-law, Michael Delmont, opened Fanny’s Restaurant, she made desserts.

Surviving are the daughters, Laura Zeller, Cosi Rofot, Georgiann Delmont and Darlene Nicosia; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:45 a.m. Saturday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1085 Englewood Ave., Town of Tonawanda.
