Peter K. Cutler has been hired as Erie County Medical Center’s new vice president of communications and external affairs.
Cutler is a former spokesperson for Mayor Byron W. Brown and in Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s administration.
“We are very pleased that Peter is joining the ECMC family, bringing his years of communications, public affairs and public policy experience to our organization,” CEO Thomas Quatroche said in a written statement. “His extensive knowledge of public communications, depth of experience in both the public and private sectors, and his understanding of issues connected to our community will be a tremendous asset for ECMC.”
Cutler has also served as director of communications under former Mayor Anthony M. Masiello, as well as in former Gov. Mario M. Cuomo’s administration.
His most recent post was as director of communications and special projects for Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. and Empire State Development. He’s also worked as director of communications for the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision and the state Division of Homeland Security.
