Church is wrong to encourage Catholics to shun Girl Scouts
I was stunned when I read in the Feb. 26 News how the Catholic Archdiocese of St. Louis was asking its parishioners to step back from supporting the Girl Scouts and their cookie sales.
It seems the archbishop is concerned the girls are becoming too worldly in their views and attitudes. For example, the organization supports transgender and homosexual rights.
As I recall, when Pope Francis was asked about homosexuals, his response was, “Who am I to judge?”
My question to the archbishop of St. Louis is: Are you preaching the man-made dogma of the Catholic Church or the teachings of love and mercy of Jesus Christ?
