Mohawk Place (47 E. Mohawk St.) is once again set to host a batch of local participants for NPR's Tiny Desk Contest showcase at 7 p.m. March 1.
Last year, the popular web series, which invites touring musicians to perform an intimate set at the desk of "All Songs Considered" host Bob Boilin, reached out to unsigned acts from across the country to submit their own "Tiny Desk" clips.
Oakland's Fantastic Negrito won the inaugural contest and was later brought to Washington, D.C. to perform at the NPR office.

Local videos were submitted in 2015 by acts including Tiny Rhymes, Applennium and Parade Chic. This year, alt-rockers Wolf, Americana outfit the Observers, First Ward (the new solo project from Niagara Falls singer-songwriter Zak Ward), lo-fi dream-pop trio Small Smalls and others will be featured on Mohawk's desk-clad stage, playing a short set that includes their submitted "Tiny Desk" song.
Cover is $5. Further event details can be found here.
