Angelo Caizza of Buffalo, retired owner of Campobello Construction Co., died Saturday in Buffalo General Medical Center after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 84.
Born in Campobello di Licata, Sicily, he came to the Buffalo area in 1964. He began his business as A&R Concrete in the early 1970s and incorporated as Campobello Construction Co. in 1980.
Although he turned daily operations over to his children in 2004, he remained active in the company until he became ill.
Mr. Caizza enjoyed gardening and winemaking.
His wife of 49 years, the former Anna M. Petruzzella, died in 2014.
Survivors include two sons, Salvatore and Stephen; a daughter, Carol Ann Opalinski; a brother, Giuseppe; a sister, Rosina; and six grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. Thursday in Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 85 Dakota Ave.
