A local man told Buffalo police that three people roughed him up, took turns punching him in the face and later cut off his braids with a pair of scissors in a gang assault they recorded on a cell phone camera Saturday morning near Broadway and Bailey Avenue. The victim was later taken to Buffalo General Medical Center for treatment of injuries to his face.
The reported assault took place between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. in a rear apartment at a home on Person Street, near Broadway. The man who brought the complaint to police said a man and a woman punched him in the face while a third person recorded the attack on video. All three later chopped off his braids before directing a friend with a silver minivan to drop off the victim near the corner of Jefferson Avenue and Clinton Street, where he called 911.
A Buffalo General official declined late Saturday to offer information on the condition of the victim, whose age and address weren’t provided in a police report. He did give police names of the accused assailants but no arrests had been made as of late Saturday.
