Senators need to stop behaving like toddlers
I am truly amazed that some elected U.S. senators would actually announce that they will not even meet, much less vote on, any nominee President Obama might propose to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia on the U.S. Supreme Court. Since it is obviously the president’s duty to propose such a nominee and it’s a senator’s duty to vote either yes or no on such a nominee, to see some of our elected senators acting like 3-year-olds having a temper tantrum because they don’t want to do something is truly appalling.
Any 3-year-old who has a temper tantrum in public is usually removed to a private area until he or she can behave appropriately. I would strongly suggest that any senator who has a similar tantrum and refuses to vote either yes or no on a nominee – the job he or she was elected to do – should also be removed by the voters from the public arena at the next election.
