Falls man heads for prison in garage burglary

LOCKPORT – Michael S. Dubuc on Friday became the third man to go to state prison in connection with a Dec. 9, 2014, garage burglary in Niagara Falls.

Dubuc, 38, of Hyde Park Boulevard in the Falls, was sentenced by Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon to 1½ to three years behind bars, It’s the same sentence Sheldon gave to Jacob A. Harbaugh, 25, of Niagara Avenue, while Franklin D. Mease Jr., 31, of Whitney Avenue, drew one to three years in prison.

In Dubuc’s case, the prison term will be served after Dubuc completes the three years left on a parole violation stemming from a 2010 conviction for second-degree robbery.

All three men pleaded guilty to attempted third-degree burglary in connection with a break-in at a garage behind the Niagara Buy & Sell pawnshop on Third Street.
