LOCKPORT – Amelia M. Penque, 28, of Niagara Falls, who was reportedly left holding the bag of crack cocaine after a May 23 traffic stop in that city, walked free Friday.
Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III dismissed the indictment against Penque, charging her with felony drug possession. The dismissal came a day after the driver of the vehicle, Jalen M. Crumpler, 23, of Ninth Street in the Falls, pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and was admitted to the judicial diversion program of court-supervised drug treatment. Crumpler reportedly handed Penque the drugs during the stop on Munson Avenue.
“Pick your companions a little more carefully next time,” Murphy advised Penque.
