LOCKPORT – The state Department of Environmental Conservation will hold a public meeting in Lockport Thursday to discuss the state of the fisheries in Lake Ontario.
The session will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the Cornell Cooperative Extension building at the Niagara County Fairgrounds, 4487 Lake Ave.
Staffers from the DEC, the U.S. Geological Survey and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will make presentations updating the condition of trout and salmon fishing in the lake, as well as forage fish and stocking programs. Representatives from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources also are scheduled to attend.
